Susie coaching a homeowner through a renovation plan at the kitchen table — floor plans, material samples, and a written reno plan
Sound familiar?

You are not short on ideas.

1

The kitchen you've re-pinned a hundred times.

2

The mudroom you keep almost adding.

3

A guest space for when your sister visits.

4

Somewhere the kids can actually be loud.

5

That bathroom vanity you've hated for six years.

Every one of them feels important. Every one of them feels like it would eat the whole budget.

So you save another photo. You generate another design. You ask three friends and get three answers. And the whole thing stays exactly where it was.

Meanwhile the house that was supposed to be your reprieve has quietly turned into one more thing on the list.

Your problem was never a lack of inspiration. It's a flood of it that won't translate to your actual house.

Your house has quirks — the odd wall, the window in the wrong spot, the pass-through nobody would design on purpose. Every gorgeous image you've saved belongs to a house that isn't yours. More ideas won't fix that.

You don't need more ideas. You need clarity.

The 2026 version of stuck

AI answers the question you asked. And you still won't know if the answer is right.

Have you run your room through AI yet? You should — it's fast, it's free, and the pictures are gorgeous. But ask it for a basement remodel, and you'll get a beautiful basement remodel. It will never say "wait — don't." It will never ask about the hallway.

And even when the answer is good — you still can't tell. It never saw your house. Nothing happens to it if it's wrong. You don't need more answers. You need to know which answer is right — and whether you were asking the right question in the first place.

Let's make sure we're a fit

Is this you?

We're going to get along if you believe:

  • Pretty is a byproduct of a home that supports your life — not the point.
  • Your home's quirks aren't problems to hide. They're what will make the design unmistakably yours.
  • The best solution is rarely the most expensive one.
  • There's no "right way." There's your way — and my whole job is helping you find it.
  • Real homes, with all their real-life mess, are beautiful.

We're probably not a fit if you want:

  • Someone to hand you the one correct, expensive, magazine answer.
  • A designer to take over and decorate at you, taste be damned.
  • Construction documents, permit drawings, or final renderings.
  • Full-service design management, product sourcing, or install oversight.
  • To skip the plan and just start buying things.

That's not what I do — Remix Clarity™ is a plan, and I coach you to your own answer. Want renderings to see a room before you build it? That's the 1:1 tier.

The method inside it

The Two-Design Remix™ Method

Three moves. It's simpler than the pile of tabs makes it feel — and you can see yourself finishing it.

The budget version — the existing cabinets kept and painted sage, simple updates
01

The budget version

What you could do right now, with the money you actually have. No fantasy — the real number.

The dream version — a full renovation with new shaker cabinetry and a soapstone island
02

The dream version

The one you'd do if the budget weren't in the room. We look at it on purpose, not in secret.

The remix — the blend: open shelving and character, on the budget that fit her family
03

The remix

The one plan that fits your family, your house, and the budget in front of you today.

These renderings are how I explore the options — budget, dream, remix. You don't get a pile of renderings to decode. You get the decision, made simple: one clear written plan and a video walkthrough you can build from.

You see all of it. Which means you stop guessing — and you stop second-guessing.

Introducing

Remix Clarity™

A virtual, mostly-async planning session for your whole house — or the one room that's driving you crazy. You send photos and answer a few questions. I remix the budget version and the dream version into one plan you can actually build and afford — then walk you through all of it on video.

What's inside your plan

Remix Clarity™ is a plan — not a rendering package. Every piece below is built to tell you what to do, in what order, and what it'll cost.

01

Remix Decision Summary

The whole thing on one page — what we decided, and why it's right for your house.

02

Design Comparisons

The budget version and the dream version, side by side, so nothing's a guess.

03

Priority Roadmap

What to do first versus later, so your money goes to the right place.

04

Layout Guidance

How the space should actually flow — quirks, odd walls, and all.

05

Project Sequencing Plan

The order of operations, so nothing gets built twice or in the wrong order.

06

Product Guidance

What to buy — and what to skip — so you're not paying for the wrong thing.

07

Inspiration Snapshot

The direction, pulled together and pointed at your house, not a stranger's.

08

Video Walkthrough

Me, walking you through the whole plan out loud — rewatch it anytime.

Remix Clarity™ is strategy and guidance — not construction documents, permit drawings, or final renderings. Those live in the 1:1 tier.

How it actually works

Here's exactly what happens — start to finish.

01

You reserve your plan.

One click, $444, one time. You'll get your intake form to fill out — start it whenever you're ready.

02

You fill it out at your own counter.

A few questions about your house, your budget, and how your family actually lives — plus photos from your phone. No appointment, no measuring tools; rough phone measurements are all I need.

03

I build your Two-Design Remix™.

I work up the budget version and the dream version, then remix them into one plan for your actual house: your decision summary, priority roadmap, sequencing, and product guidance.

04

You get the whole plan back — with a video walkthrough.

Not a document to decode. I record a walkthrough talking you through every call, so it's like sitting next to me at the table.

05

You move — in order, with confidence.

You know what to do first, what can wait, and what it'll cost. Hire it out, DIY it, or phase it over a year — the plan holds either way.

I work virtually with homeowners anywhere. No in-home visit, no two-year renovation limbo — just one clear plan, before you spend the first thousand dollars.

What clarity actually does

One space solved five problems.

Case study · Too many projects, one budget

She had a list. And one question: what would the basement build-out cost?

Before
  • Kitchen updates
  • A guest space
  • A bonus room for the kids
  • A mudroom for the family
  • A bathroom vanity
After
  • One underused entry space, seen differently
  • Most of the list solved at once
  • No expensive basement build she didn't need
  • A phased plan she felt good about
  • Money aimed where it counted

But the plan that came back didn't start in the basement. It started with what she already had. One underused entry space, reimagined — and most of the list was handled. Mudroom, guest space, no build-out required. That's what you're seeing in these photos. And the first thing she actually moved on? The laundry — a piece she'd stopped even complaining about. Not the basement she came in asking about.

Before
The same entry rebuilt as a full mudroom with lockers and a bench, the new guest space visible through the doorway
After Rendering

Her front entry — before, and the mudroom plus the guest space we found inside it. No basement build required.

Case study · The impossible layout

A living room with no wall for the TV — for years.

Cassie came to me with a question she'd been stuck on for years: where does the TV go in a living room with no real walls? Here's the thing — that was never the real question. The real question, the one she'd never said out loud, was how to get a TV and keep the open sightline through to the kitchen. Once the question changed, the room practically solved itself. And I did the whole thing from photos — I never set foot in her house.

Cassie's living room before — the TV mounted awkwardly high on the wall, mismatched furniture, no clear layout
Before
Cassie's living room after — the TV on a custom cabinet in the pass-through, a sectional built for the space
After Rendering

"Our living room is an odd shape, with no real walls to mount a TV, so we struggled to design a fully functional space for years before working with Susie. She quickly found a solution we would have never been able to come up with on our own. We love our living room!"

The real math
The real risk isn't $444.

It's spending thousands on a kitchen, an addition, a whole renovation — and still ending up with a home that doesn't fit your life. A wrong call you have to look at every day, and second-guess every time. That's the expensive mistake. Remix Clarity™ is how you spend once, in the right place, on purpose.

Meet Susie

I learned homes the hard way. That's exactly why I can walk you through it.

I was the demo girl. My dad is a master carpenter, and I worked beside him on remodels — swinging the sledge, painting, staining, learning how a house actually goes together. Then I got a degree in Construction Science and designed kitchens and baths for a living.

But the thing that shaped this work most is that none of it came naturally to me. I had to consciously learn every single piece.

That's not a caveat. It's the whole reason I'm good at this. People born with taste can only have it. I had to learn it step by step — which means I can walk you through it step by step.

The obstacle was the way. The constraints helped me make decisions.

I've done this in a tiny 1920 house that overwhelmed us, in a big dream house that somehow overwhelmed us more, and in the historic farmhouse we now rent out. We even create the same feeling in a 300-square-foot fifth wheel we live in half the year — which is how I know it was never about size or money. You're still wayfinding. You're just doing it with someone who's done it before you.

In their words

“Solutions we never would have thought of.”

Two different clients wrote almost exactly that sentence — independently, unprompted. It's my favorite thing anyone says about this work, because it's the whole job: the best plan usually answers a question you didn't know to ask.

Susie helped us sort through all our ideas and figure out what to do first versus later without blowing the budget. She came up with solutions we never would have thought of, and it made everything feel much more doable.

Honest answers

The things you're actually wondering.

Do I get renderings like the ones on this page?

Those renderings are how I explore a space — the design work behind every plan, and the kind of thing I make for 1:1 clients. Remix Clarity™ itself is a plan: your Remix Decision Summary, design comparisons, a priority roadmap, sequencing, product guidance, and a video walkthrough — so you know exactly what to do, in what order, and what it'll cost. Want full custom renderings to see a specific room before you build it? That's the higher-touch 1:1 tier.

Honestly — why can't I just figure this out myself?

Because you're too close to it. That's not a knock — it's the whole reason a guide helps. Cassie's family struggled with their living room for years; the fix came quickly once someone who'd done it before looked at it. You're still the one making the calls. You're just wayfinding with someone who's walked the path first.

Do you come to my house?

No — Remix Clarity™ is virtual, and I work with homeowners anywhere. You send photos and answer a few questions from your own kitchen counter. No appointment to clean the house for, no salesperson at your table.

I'm not in Western Massachusetts. Does that matter?

Not for your plan — the design and planning work is fully virtual, for homeowners anywhere. (The hands-on handyman side of the family, run by my husband Mitch, is local to Western MA only. Two different things.)

I don't have much time right now.

That's exactly who this is built for. It's mostly async — barely any meetings. You send what you can when you can, and I do the heavy lifting. You get the whole plan back with a video walkthrough you can watch while the coffee finishes.

What if my house is really weird?

Good. The odd wall, the window in the wrong spot, the pass-through nobody would design on purpose — those aren't problems to hide. They're what make the plan unmistakably yours. Weird houses are my favorite.

Can I use this for one room, or my whole house?

Either. Some people bring the one room that's driving them crazy; others bring the whole overwhelming list and we sort out what comes first. The Two-Design Remix™ Method works the same way at both sizes.

Is $444 everything, or does it lead to more?

It's the plan, in full — everything listed above, yours to keep. If you later want full custom renderings so you can see a specific space before you build it, there's a higher-touch 1:1 option. But that's a choice, never a catch. Most people take the plan and run with it.

One clear next step

Your home should support the life you actually want to live.

You've got the ideas. Let's turn them into one plan you can actually build — and afford.
